UCLA @ NELS 53
College of Letters and Science: Humanities
- The 53rd Annual Meeting of the North East Linguistic Society (NELS 53) was hosted by the University of Göttingen in Germany. The program featured several talks by UCLA linguists: Arthur Mateos, Alum Nikos Angelopoulos (with Dimitris Michelioudaki), Alum Isabelle Charnavel, and Dominique Sportiche.

UCEAP

Berlin Summer

Bucerius Law School
- UCLA School of Law partners with Bucerius Law School in Hamburg, Germany to provide a foreign exchange program for their students. All law courses within the exchange program are selected exclusively for the program and are taught in English. Some course offerings include Corporate Law and Introduction to EU Law.

Summer Global Internship, Berlin
- In Kreuzberg, the Council on International Education Exchange (CIEE) Global Institute is a model of a joint learning and living center. With easy access to the rest of Berlin, the institute's site offers high-tech classrooms, bright common areas, and comfortable study areas.

Engineering: Internships in Berlin
- With its extensive public transit system, Berlin is easy to navigate to view its numerous cultural wonders, as well nearby lakes, forests, and castles. Internship placements are approximately 8 weeks long. UCLA partners with CIEE to place students in internships based on personal career goals, interests and experience.

Projects/Programs

The projects and programs on this map constitute our “global data.” We define global data to be information related to “global topics” such as events, activities, and geographical areas outside of the United States. Any project or program conducted in an area outside of the United States is included on the map, as it speaks to UCLA’s direct engagement with the global community. Even if a project or program is conducted domestically, it is included as long as it engages with one or more global topics.

To collect data for the Projects/Programs map, we survey faculty on their research pursuits. We also explore UCLA websites such as faculty profiles, research centers, and department pages to learn about past and ongoing projects. We periodically review our data, archiving and removing projects and programs that have concluded or expired.
